Are you a BankruptcyPRO user wondering if it makes sense to move to Jubilee? If so, let us break down the pros and perceived cons of making the move.
Both products will calculate, prepare, and file complete bankruptcy petitions and both get the same great level of support from our knowledgeable staff. Beyond that they are quite different, however. Where BankruptcyPRO is a Windows desktop application, Jubilee is completely Web-based. This gives Jubilee users greater flexibility to use the computing environment they prefer (Windows vs. Mac vs. tablets) as well as the flexibility to access Jubilee from anywhere an internet connection is available. Jubilee users are also relieved of the expense of storing the data as well as the responsibility of backing it up since Jubilee lives on the world class Microsoft Azure cloud servers. On the other hand, BankruptcyPRO never requires an internet connection except to file a case electronically. This can be an advantage in areas that don’t have reliable web connectivity.
BankruptcyPRO has integrations with some service providers such as BK Packet for an online questionnaire; CIN Legal Data Services and MFI Credit Solutions for credit reports; Start Fresh Today for CC/DE courses; and Certificate of Service for mailouts. Jubilee integrates with all of these providers plus Practice Panther, Clio, the National Data Center, and Allen Credit and Debt Agency. BankruptcyPRO has two desktop companion programs – I-Got-Notices to manage court notices and DoingTIME to do invoicing. Both of those programs have some limited integration with BankruptcyPRO. Jubilee has fully integrated tools to manage court notices, bill and invoice clients, collect electronic payments, and communicate with clients via text messaging as well as an upcoming client portal to collect documents.
The one area where BankruptcyPRO still outshines Jubilee is with its FlashDOCS feature. Current BankruptcyPRO users who have made good use of FlashDOCS will want to wait until Jubilee brings this feature on (It IS coming!).
The last factor to consider is how happy you are with BankruptcyPRO vs. how valuable the Jubilee benefits are to you. Jubilee is completely different than BankruptcyPRO from a presentation standpoint – it is not BankruptcyPRO for the cloud. There is a learning curve and not every bell and whistle you may be used to in BankruptcyPRO exists in Jubilee (although you might find some new bells you like that are not in BankruptcyPRO).
Another consideration to moving to Jubilee is data transfer. Jubilee can import contact and creditor lists from BankruptcyPRO (and other software), but it cannot import a whole case.
This means there will be a transition period where you will need to maintain cases in different programs. We won’t bill you for both!
The good news is, whichever product you choose, you win. Jubilee is the future here and now and we have no plans to end support for BankruptcyPRO. You can always try Jubilee before you commit, or tune in to some of our biweekly webinars to see how it works. Web-based software is getting better all the time and we’ve made it a priority to make Jubilee quick and smooth without lots of lag time for page loading.
Either way – no other company will ever match our level of support or commitment to our clients! Thanks for being a LegalPRO client and remember that we still get more business from your kind referrals than any other source.
